What is a Sparky and who is my local eastern suburbs sparky

​Sparky is a term for someone who is lively high spirited.
In Australia the term Sparky also defines a person with a trade qualification (cert 111) in electrotechnology and has completed a minimal 3 year apprenticeship.
In simple terms an electrician is sparky.
While ‘sparky’ may have started as casual slang, it has evolved to become a respected term within the electrical industry and broader Australian society. Many electricians embrace the nick name.
Whilst it be disputed the SPARKY originated in Australia and is as Aussie a Roo or Wombat,
the English will argue the Sparky in fact came from the slang Sparks which has been around as long as electricity itself.
